Cameron Jensen (Mechanical Engineering) presented his research titled, “Linear No-threshold Model: A Collection of Studies on The Highly Debated Radiation Protection Standard,” during the International Nuclear Law Association’s (INLA) Radiological Protection Working Group’s Technical Meeting on April 21, 2023. Jensen shared a collection of studies regarding the Linear No Threshold (LNT) model and its potential uses in supporting or potentially negating radiological protection standards based on LNT. The research was performed as part of a ME 791-Independent Study course. Jensen will continue expand his research based on feedback received to the presentation and plans to present his work during the next INLA Nuclear Inter Jura, which will be held in Poland during Fall 2024. The research and presentation were guided by INLA’s Radiological Protection Working Group Chair, Mark Sanders, and Jensen’s MS thesis adviser Charlotta Sanders (Mechanical Engineering).
The International Nuclear Law Association was founded in Brussels 51 years ago by a group of nuclear lawyers. Its purpose is to promote the study of legal issues associated with the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and to encourage the exchange of information in this field.
