Catherine Bacos and Vaneh Darakjian (Law School) are editor and associate editor, respectively, of UNLV Law magazine, which has been selected as a 2016 Award of Excellence bronze winner in the category of “Annual Magazines” by District VII of the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).
More than 500 entries were received and evaluated by a team of peer volunteer judges. The winners were announced in the CASE VII 2016 Awards of Excellence Program.
The annual awards program showcases best practices in alumni relations, fundraising, public relations, advancement services, special events, and communications. Experts from throughout the district judge the entries and select gold, silver, and bronze winners for each category.
UNLV Law is an annual magazine published by the office of communications at the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law. The winning edition was produced by Bacos and Darakjian, who worked in collaboration with faculty, staff, students, and alumni and the following contributors: Ched Whitney (graphic designer); writers Kandy Delacruz, Mike Kalil, Matthew Kelemen, Tovin Lapan, Jennifer Mujica, Launce Rake, and Brian Sodoma; UNLV photographers Aaron Mayes and R. Marsh Starks; then-UNLV photographer Geri Kodey; and freelance photographer Connie Palen.
CASE is a professional association serving educational institutions and the professionals who work on their behalf. District VII represents the western region of the United States, including Nevada, Arizona, California, Guam, Hawaii, Northern Mariana Islands, and Utah.
