Blessing Imade; Asma Awan; and Manoj Sharma (all Social and Behavioral Health), presented a talk “Acupuncture as an alternative therapy for the treatment of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among adults: A comprehensive review” at the American Public Health Association 2024 Annual Meeting on October 27, 2024, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as part of the Integrative, Complementary and Traditional Health Practices. The talk explained that acupuncture could serve as a viable approach for managing PTSD, facilitating improvement in sleep, mood, and overall mental functioning. However, investigating the enduring impacts and safety of acupuncture on PTSD requires rigorous randomized controlled trials, using large sample sizes with long-term follow-ups. Imade is a graduate student.
