Drs. Awad Javaid and Chowdhury Ahsan (both Medicine) recently co-authored original research that was presented at the 2022 American Heart Association's annual Scientific Sessions and published in Circulation. The title of the project was "Comparison of Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, and Vasopressors Alone in Patients With Acute Myocardial Infarction and Cardiogenic Shock Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention." The objective was to compare outcomes of different strategies in the management of cardiogenic shock complicated by acute myocardial infarction.
