Austin Horng-En Wang (Political Science) has been awarded a scholar grant of $7,100 from Chiang Ching-kuo Foundation for International Scholarly Exchange. The project, titled "Collective Action, Simultaneity, and Nation-Building," will investigate how the perceived collective action during military conflict may shape the national identity.
He also recently co-authored an op-ed in The Diplomat Magazine. The article, "What Do Taiwan's People Think About Their Relationship to China?" suggests a new measurement to disentangle the apparent status quo consensus among Taiwanese voters on the China-Taiwan relationship. The article was selected as the "Flashpoints" article by the editor.
