Asma Awan (Social and Behavioral Health) is the recipient of the SOPHE Leaders in Equity & Diversity (LEAD) Fellowship Award, which will be presented during the 2024 Society for Public Health Education (SOPHE) Annual Conference in St. Louis, Missouri from Mar. 19-21.
This award is being presented for completion of the fellowship, which sought to create a pathway to increase diversity in health education leadership among SOPHE's membership. As a LEAD Fellow, Asma learned best practices in leadership strategies, worked with other Project LEAD members and SOPHE staff to develop a project that supports their interests, submitted an abstract to SOPHE's Annual Conference or Advocacy Summit, among other assignments to advance SOPHE's efforts to create an inclusive and diverse environment.
