Annika Roseen (Psychology) was named the new Mx. Native UNLV! She is a psychology major and neuroscience minor passionate about mental wellness and indigenous mental health.
The Mx. Native UNLV Pageant was created by the UNLV Native American Student Association (NASA) to provide a platform for Indigenous leaders to enact meaningful change and advocate for issues that are important to them. Prior to 2020, the pageant was called “Miss Native UNLV Pageant.” NASA is moving in a direction that is more inclusive of identity. “Mx.” is the gender-neutral honorific, allowing all Native American students regardless of gender identity, at UNLV, to compete for the crown and title of Mx. Native UNLV.
Those who hold the crown and title represent the UNLV Native American student base nationally by holding events/discussions around the platform they run under and advocate non-stop for changes they want implemented at the local, state, and national level.
