Amanda Melilli (Libraries) presented at the Young Adult Library Services Association's 2015 Symposium with Clark High School teacher and UNLV instructor Ashley Nebe (Education). Their presentation, "A Series of Fortunate Events: Library Collaborations that help LGBTQ Young Adults Transition to College Life," focused on how academic libraries can collaborate with campus and community partners to help LGBTQ students be successful in higher education. The 90-minute presentation was attended by more than 140 symposium participants and included a moderated panel discussion with award-winning authors David Levithan, Mariko Tamaki, Susan Kuklin, and Ann Bausum.
