Drs. Amanda Leisgang Osse, Jefferson W. Kinney, and Jeffrey L. Cummings (all Medicine) recently co-authored the article, "The Common Alzheimer's Disease Research Ontology (CADRO) for biomarker categorization." The article pertains to a classification system developed by the NIH for all biological processes involved in Alzheimer's disease. The name for the system is CADRO. In the article, the group shows that there are biomarkers --- blood tests, spinal fluid tests, or brain scans -- available for nearly all the CADRO categories, showing how much progress has been made in biomarker development.
