Dr. Allison McNickle (Medicine) has been honored by the Surgical Critical Care Program Directors Society for her research abstract on "The Impact of Pre-Hospital Tourniquets on Resuscitation in Extremity Arterial Trauma." She received an honorable mention award for excellence in research. She recently finished her fellowship in acute care surgery at UMC. She has decided to stay and practice in Las Vegas, accepting the position of assistant professor of surgery at the UNLV School of Medicine. In addition to her many duties in hospital during her fellowship, McNickle volunteered her time training others to render first aid to trauma victims through the "Stop the Bleed" program.
