Aidy Weeks (Libraries) is the co-recipient of the Carla J. Funk Governmental Relations Award from the Medical Library Association. The award recognizes medical librarians who have demonstrated outstanding leadership in the area of governmental relations at the federal, state, or local level, and who has furthered the goal of providing quality information for improved health. Weeks received the award with Ruby Nugent, a former School of Medicine Library faculty member now at the National Jewish Health Tucker Medical Library in Denver, for their work with the Hispanic/Latinx Inclusive Terminologies Project and helping to make changes to medical subject headings impacting Hispanic/Latinx populations and managed by the National Library of Medicine. Weeks is an assistant professor within UNLV Libraries and director of the School of Medicine Library serving the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV.
