The African Student Association was the first recipient of the Blackprint Award, which was given out at the first Inaugural Black Carpet, the main event for Black History Month. This event was hosted by Student Diversity and Social Justice to celebrate Black Excellence, Black Love, and Black Joy. This award is designed to recognize a registered student organization that identifies under the Black/African Diaspora and that has developed initiatives to build community at UNLV for black-identified students. This registered student organization has strategically developed the blueprint, or in this case, the blackprint, to building strong connections and programs on UNLV's campus.
