Aaron Saiewitz (Accounting) has been named the inaugural recipient of the UNLV Accounting Alumni Fellowship. This new fellowship represents another significant sign of support, recognizing the importance of attracting, retaining, and supporting outstanding faculty who serve Lee Business School students and prepare them for their professional careers.
Saiewitz came to UNLV in 2014 after a long and successful career in public accounting, followed by his pursuit of a doctoral degree from the University of Massachusetts. During his time at UNLV, Saiewitz has established himself as a highly effective scholar, teacher, and mentor. His research on auditor-client communication and the impact of national culture on auditor judgment has been published in some of the premier accounting journals in the world. Among several teaching accolades, he was recently selected as a recipient of the UNLV Foundation 2022 Distinguished Teaching Award. Saiewitz is also very active in the American Accounting Association, currently serving as program chair for the 2023 Auditing Midyear Meeting in Austin, Texas.
The UNLV Accounting Alumni Faculty Fellowship was established with the support and leadership of Accounting alumnus Rick Arpin. Arpin is the managing partner for KPMG Las Vegas and has a long history of giving back to Lee Business School.
