Fourteen pediatric residents (Medicine) have been accepted to present research abstracts at the Western Medical Research Conference in Carmel, California, in January.
The research was done in addition to their work at area hospitals and clinics.
The pediatric resident/physicians whose abstracts were accepted for presentation are: Kaushal Dosani, Rupesh Kumar Natarajan, Eun Ji Jan, Melissa Horton, Grant Perry, Bhuvaneshwari Jagadesan, Carolina Kolectic, Danielle Fisher, Vonita Chawla, Dania Salahuddin, Senthil Bhoopalan, Sehyr Imran, Harris Khawaja, and Michelle MacDavid.
Some of the research topics include: “An Unusual Presentation of Crohn’s Disease; A Seven Year Journey to Diagnosis,” “Late Presentation of Cystic Fibrosis as Pancreatitis in an Adolescent,” and “A 16 Year old Male with Recurrent Vomiting Diagnosed with Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome.”
The School of Medicine will fly each of the resident/physicians to Carmel so they can present their research and compete for top awards.
