Description
Source Modeling. Foundations of lossy and lossless compression. Code properties, optimal codes. Differential coding. Scalar and vector quantization. Transform-based coding. Compression techniques and standards for facsimile, audio, image, and video data. This course is crosslisted with ECG 605. Credit at the 600-level requires additional work.Prerequisites
EE 220 and (MATH 431 or CpE 260)
