For enrollment questions and errors, please email biology.help@unlv.edu. Include your name, NSHE ID number, course information (prefix, number, and section), and specific details of your question/issue.
Most biology courses require one or more textbooks. Laboratory costs may include a textbook, a digital or physical laboratory notebook, and personal safety equipment (such as a lab coat or safety goggles). Some courses may require field trips. Required electronic resources may include clickers (or similar classroom response technology) and software subscriptions. These costs are typically less than $300.
This is an in-person course. If circumstances necessitate a shift to remote instruction, course requirements will change and students may incur additional costs. For remote instruction, students may be required to use a computer that includes a web camera and microphone. The computer and associated browser must be compatible with Lockdown Browser and Respondus Monitor software (or similar), which may be required for online exams and quizzes (Chromebooks as well as some tablets do not meet this requirement). Students must have a reliable internet connection capable of live streaming video and audio. Course activities including lectures, discussions, presentations, assignments, quizzes, and exams may be held synchronously with class times.
Students who have not submitted immunization records and students who have accepted online-only agreements are not eligible to enroll in classes with any in-person requirements.
