Description

Introduces concept of object-oriented programming, a structured and powerful programming technique offering advantages over the traditional approach. Students write business application programs using a contemporary object-oriented programming language (Java) to solve real-world problems (e.g. business intelligence, such as big data retrieval, etc.).

This is an Internet class; refer to Canvas instructions at https://unlv.instructure.com.
Apart from the textbook (which can be bought from the UNLV bookstore), this course requires a Mac or PC computer (preferably a Windows PC/laptop) and Internet connection for successfully completing this class. The course may also require a webcam and a microphone. The webcam and microphone may be built into your computer or may be an external camera and microphone. The course may also use the LockDown Browser with or without Monitor for online quizzes/exams. While there is no cost to you to use the software, if Monitor is used, then a webcam will be required. Chromebooks are not compatible for this class.
