UNLV requires that students studying abroad through UNLV, including those participating in independent research and international student teaching purchase a standardized insurance policy for the duration of their studies. Proof of purchase of the medical insurance is required at least 30 days prior to departure. Students failing to purchase medical insurance and provide proof of purchase will be withdrawn from the UNLV program and scholarship & financial aid awards will be canceled. There are no exceptions to this requirement. A brochure detailing the medical insurance along with the required application is available from the UNLV Office of International Programs.

Students attending programs through the University Studies Abroad Consortium have insurance provided as part of their program.
