In order to participate in the program, graduate students must:

• have completed at least one year of graduate studies at UNLV by program start date.
• currently be enrolled.
• be in good academic standing in a graduate degree program.

The 2025-2026 online Grad Rebel Ambassadors application will be available through the Grad Rebel Gateway from May 1 to August 8, 2025. Please log in to the Grad Rebel Gateway and click on The Grad Academy tab to apply.

As part of the application, you will be asked to submit your CV or Resume and a letter of interest detailing your relevant experience, your motivation for becoming a Grad Rebel Ambassador, and the unique skills or qualities you would contribute to the program.

After reviewing all applications, we will invite the most qualified candidates to participate in an interview. Final selections will then be made to form our new cohort of Grad Rebel Ambassadors.

To successfully complete the Grad Rebel Ambassadors program and receive program benefits, students must fulfill all program requirements.

Program Requirements:

• Attend 3 cohort meetings with curated learning opportunities.
• Support a minimum of 5 campus events (2 during the fall semester and 3 during the spring semester) by assisting with event operations and student support, sharing your experiences as a panelist, networking and advocating for graduate education.
• Compete in the Rebel Grad Slam 3-Minute Thesis event.
• Attend a networking event.
• Participate in additional optional activities to promote The Grad Academy and graduate education.
• Complete all program surveys.

This program provides an opportunity to help actively build a strong graduate community at UNLV. Ambassadors engage in professional development, including strengthening leadership, communication, and networking skills. The program enables ambassadors to connect with local community members, and to be advocates on behalf of graduate education. In addition, Grad Rebel Ambassadors who successfully fulfill their required responsibilities are awarded a $500 program scholarship at the end of each term.

Please note: You must have a current FAFSA form or the Alternate Need Determination Form on file. If you owe money for current or prior terms, the award funds will be applied towards that balance. Disbursement of the program scholarship can take between 4-6 weeks after we have confirmed completion of program requirements.

Once admitted, all participants will need to complete all of the requirements. If a student is not in good standing in their degree program, or if they create any problems as a participant in the program, they may be removed from the program at the discretion of the graduate college dean. Please be familiar with UNLV's Student Conduct Code.

Attendance at cohort meetings is expected unless an exception is approved in advance.

• Mid Cohort Meeting: Friday, November 21, 2025, 4-5:00 p.m.
• Final Cohort Meeting: Friday, May 1, 2026, 4:00-5:00 p.m.
  • Followed by Recognition Dinner from 5-6:00 p.m.
