Office/Remote Location
Description
How can you convey your message in both a professional and impactful way? In this workshop, graduate students will learn to enhance their skills in effectively commenting at public events/settings which often have imposed time limits for comments. Whether participating in a conference, panel discussion, seminar, external review visit or legislative session, you need the tools and confidence to articulate your thoughts, ideas, and experiences in a professional and productive manner. Students will explore various aspects of public speaking, learn strategies for concise and influential commenting, and practice techniques to engage effectively and appropriately with audiences.
By participating in this workshop you will:
- Gain insight into how to prepare to comment productively in public forums.
- Learn how to relate your message to the broader view of the student body.
- Discover how you can make an impact by speaking with intention and professionalism.
