The UNLV GenCyber Camp is a free cybersecurity camp designed for high school students in Southern Nevada. Our program aims to educate students on safe online behavior, promote digital citizenship, and foster interest in cybersecurity careers. Participants engage in hands-on activities covering various cybersecurity topics and gain insights from industry experts.

Topics will include:

  • Cybersecurity Concepts
  • Encryption techniques
  • Social and personal computer security
  • Cybercrimes and protection
  • Wireless and mobile security
  • Critical infrastructure protection

Throughout the five-day summer camp, participants will learn fundamental cybersecurity concepts through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experience with hacking tools and capture-the-flag (CTF) Competitions.

Notebook computers will be provided during the course, however, attendees are encouraged to bring their own personal computers if they prefer.

The UNLV GenCyber Camp is coordinated by a diverse team of faculty, staff, and student mentors, led by UNLV GenCyber Camp Director, Professor Juyeon Jo, and Lead Instructor, Professor Yoohwan Kim from the Computer Science Department in the College of Engineering.
