Join BMI and Mandi Gray, Ph.D., for a discussion about her work and how it influenced her book, Suing for Silence: Sexual Violence and Defamation Law.
Gray is an assistant professor at Trent University (Ontario, Canada) in the Sociology Department. She is the author of Suing for Silence: Sexual Violence and Defamation Law published by UBC Press, which critically examines the use of defamation law to silence reports, disclosures, and broader discourse about sexual violence. Mandi has been working with women and girls involved in the legal system since 2008. She is also the primary subject in a documentary film titled Slut or Nut: The Diary of a Rape Trial (2018).
