Description

Title: Is Earth Exceptional?

Speaker: Mario Livio, Astrophysicist and Bestselling Author

How did life on Earth begin? Are we alone in the universe? We describe laboratory studies aimed at determining whether life can emerge from pure chemistry. We review astronomical searches for signs of life on other planets and moons in the solar system, and around other stars. We present astounding findings of astronomers and astrobiologists that have brought us to the verge of being able to detect extraterrestrial life.

This talk is intended for a general audience including enthusiasts of all backgrounds and ages. There will be a book-signing event after the lecture.
