Description

A placement audition to determine technical ability and level is required for all dance majors. BFA Performance and Choreography degree candidates must attend placement and Performance and Choreography auditions on the same day.

Dance minors and non-majors should attend placement auditions if they are planning on taking major-level technique courses in ballet, modern, or jazz (DAN 232, 235, 238, or higher). Students will be taught movement phrases in ballet, modern, and jazz by dance faculty and will be expected to demonstrate these movements.
Attire for placement is basic dance clothing, ballet shoes, jazz shoes, and/or non-slippery socks.

Please note that this Placements Audition could potentially conflict with ongoing new student orientations and UNLV admission events.  Check the dates and times of your orientation/campus events prior to choosing a Placements Audition date accordingly.
