By-Hand How-To Workshop: Tactile Drawing with Natalie Delgado
Campus Location
Office/Remote Location
Description
Experience the world in a new way when you join our Tactile Drawing workshop with artist Natalie Delgado. Delgado will guide you through a process of observing by touch rather than sight. In this workshop, you’ll find out how to accurately capture all of the intricacies and textures of an item while you are drawing it blindfolded.
“I especially love teaching this workshop, because it shows people how important it is to really ‘observe’ and familiarize yourself with the subject you want to draw,” the artist says. “Sight is not the only way to observe subject matter when trying to draw something realistically.”
The workshop will be open daily from January 29–February 1, 2025. Each session runs from 12–4 p.m. but you can arrive and leave at any time. Materials are provided by the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art. Guests of all ages are welcome. No previous experience is required.
This workshop is part of the Marjorie Barrick Museum’s By-Hand How-To, a series of creative and restful events that will manifest almost every month until May 2025.The project is supported, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the state of Nevada.
