By-Hand How-To Workshop: Screen Printing with Sara Jean Odam

When

Mar. 20, 2025, 12pm to 4pm

Description

Learn to decorate your own t-shirt or tote bag with Sara Jean Odam. In these free workshops she will show you how to develop your ideas into wearable forms of art through the fun and versatile process of screen printing. There will be pre-created images to play with, or you can invent your own.

The workshop is suitable for all ages. This is a great family activity for spring break!

The screen printing workshop will be open daily from Tuesday, March 18–Friday, March 21, 2025. Each session runs from 12–4 p.m. but you can arrive and leave at any time. Materials—including bags and shirts in various sizes—will be provided by the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art for as long as supplies last. Participants can also bring their own shirts and bags for printing. No previous experience with printmaking is required.

This workshop is part of the Marjorie Barrick Museum’s By-Hand How-To, a series of creative and restful events that will manifest almost every month until June 2025. The project is supported, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the state of Nevada.
