In co-sponsorship with the Graduate College, Brookings Mountain West was pleased to offer a workshop with Brookings David M. Rubenstein Fellow, Dany Bahar, Ph.D. Bahar’s research focuses on migrants and refugees as drivers of economic trade and capital flows. A graduate of Harvard University (Ph.D. in Public Policy), Bahar has worked for and consulted multilateral development banks, including the World Bank and the Inter-American Development Bank.In this informative and interactive workshop, Bahar briefly discussed economic trends from international migration, experience in working for intergovernmental organizations (IGOs) and in think-tanks, and how best to prepare for a career in public policy, government, and beyond.
By participating in this workshop, attendees:
- Understood economic trends attributable to international migration (e.g. remittances)
- Learned how to orient their academic/professional path to align with a career in IGOs
- Learned about the policy-influencing/policy-making career paths
