Description
Brookings Mountain West and the Office of Undergraduate Research at UNLV are pleased to offer a workshop on the topic of political violence with Brookings Senior Fellow in Foreign Policy, Vanda Felbab-Brown, Ph.D. Political violence is often attributed to socioeconomic factors. However, the anatomy of political violence can also include non-material factors. This workshop will explore the root causes and far-reaching consequences of political violence, from grassroots uprisings to state-sponsored repression. The workshop will also highlight the role of state and non-state actors in contributing to the cause of political violence.
