Several graduate assistantships that involve teaching and/or grading duties are available for our students. In addition, research grants held by individual faculty members support several research assistantships.
- Require 20 hours per week of service.
- Require a study load of six to nine credit hours per semester.
- Pay a monthly stipend, and the Graduate College will normally waive tuition for courses used in the student's degree program. Other fees, such as student union fees, are not waived.
Teaching assistantships do not include summer stipends but do include, after a nine-month employment period, summer course fee waivers.
Research assistantships may offer assistance for the full 12 months.
Application forms are available from the Graduate College, and completed applications should be submitted to the Graduate College by February 1 (for Fall) and October 1 (for Spring). A single application form is used for both graduate and research assistantships.
