The dual MBA/MD program is designed for those who seek to develop a solid understanding of business administration with a focus on being doctors of medicine. The program will provide students with the needed skills, knowledge, and tools to become visionary and creative doctors with strong competency in business management.

Overall, the curriculum is community-focused, but places great importance on relationships through faculty to student mentorship, extensive experience with health care professionals in the delivery of primary care and longitudinal patient-centered care, in addition to immersion in community service projects and initiatives. Students will directly apply their learning in the service of others, providing compassionate care in collaboration with many other health professionals including: physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, dentists, physical therapists, social workers, occupational therapists, and other community practitioners in the pursuit of providing the best patient.

Admission Process

The dual MBA/MD program is open to graduates from all undergraduate disciplines. You are required to have a bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year institution in the United States, or proof of equivalent training at an international college or university. You must submit two applications, one to the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine and Lee Business School. Applicants can be admitted to the medical school and add the MBA portion of the dual degree during their second or third year of medical school

Dual Degree Program Structure

The dual MBA/MD degree is a 205-hour program in which students take 175 credits in the Medical School and 30 credits in the MBA program. Full-time students typically receive their degree within 5 years. Students take off a year from medical school to complete the MBA portion of the dual degree.

Application Deadlines

Interested students would first apply to the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine. Applications are only accepted in the fall semester. Students can add the MBA side of the dual degree in fall of their second or third year.

The dual MBA/MD degree program consists of faculty from both the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine and Lee Business School. These distinguished teachers and researchers are at the top of their respective fields, and their work is regularly published in scholarly journals.
