New positions cannot be created on a state account mid-year. New state positions are requested during the annual budget reallocations process and must be coordinated through your Division Budget Officer.
Note that positions are not interchangeable between state and self supporting accounts. Searches and recruitments must be processed on the account where the position is budgeted. When a state position becomes vacant, if there is an employee in the same function on a self supporting account, they can be moved to the state position, leaving the self supporting position available for a search.
