Workday has upgraded several features to maximize the user experience. The changes took effect on September 11 and include the following:

My Task 

  • Automated Refresh

    • Task view will automatically remove completed tasks and seamlessly incorporate any new tasks since a user’s last refresh. This ensures task lists remain current and relevant.

  • Advanced Search 

    • The Advanced Search panel now includes specialized Assignment parameters. These parameters allow users to swiftly locate tasks that are exclusively assigned or delegated to them, filtering out tasks that involve multiple individuals. This streamlines the task-finding process by priority. 

  • Date View Display Options

    • The new Date View display options allow users to choose between Absolute Date and Relative Date settings. The Absolute Date option presents the exact date when the task was received. The Relative Date option offers insights into the time elapsed since the task was added to a user’s list. This flexibility allows users to personalize managing tasks.

Manager Homepage 

The homepage now displays additional contextual information for managers, giving additional insight into specific areas. The contexts include Quick Actions, Important Dates, and Team Highlights.

  • Quick Actions

    • Managers can effortlessly review and take action on select transactions. They can complete tasks, review items that need approval, and initiate transactions directly.
  • Important Dates

    • Managers can oversee upcoming team events, including anniversaries, holidays, and time-off requests, as well as their own events.

  • Team Highlights

    • Managers have the option to quickly preview up to eight direct reports and navigate to employee profiles to gather relevant team-related insights.

User Experience

The Workday search function has been updated to improve the user experience.

  • Search results now display the corresponding definitions for Workday tasks, reports, steps, and landing pages in the same search result, reducing the number of total search results that appear.
  • Error messages now display in real-time for required fields in supported tasks and forms, making it easier to identify and resolve errors.
