Security roles are Workday designations that determine access to initiate and approve business processes and data in the system. Ensuring that employees have the appropriate security roles to perform their job functions is a shared responsibility between business managers, supervisors, and the Workday security team. Follow these steps when determining which security roles are appropriate for your organization:
- Visit the Security Role Requests webpage to see which security role(s) is / are the best fit for the employee's functional responsibilities
- Review what security, if any, the employee is assigned by entering 'Role Assignments for Worker Position' in the Workday search bar.
- If you are unsure of which security role(s) to choose, submit a question through the BA Portal. A Workday security representative will be in contact with you to assist.
- Once you have determined the appropriate security roles, use the "Update an Employee's Security Roles" button at the bottom of the Security Roles Request webpage to place your request.
