The UNLV Foundation Board of Trustees is pleased to announce the addition of four new members to its board of trustees: Roberta Martin, Sandra Douglass Morgan '03, Bryan K. Scott '88, and Rikki Tanenbaum '06.
"It's an honor to welcome these four new members to the board, and we look forward to their contributions as we continue to support the aspirations and evolution of UNLV, its students, and the southern Nevada community," said UNLV Foundation President, Rickey N. McCurry, J.D. "They each bring diverse skills and expertise and can provide meaningful counsel as UNLV continues its rapid growth.”
Roberta Martin is an experienced litigator with a civil and criminal law background. She's also a successful entrepreneur and businesswoman, having served as VP of Martin's Grand McDonald's LLC from 2012 to 2021. Before this, she held notable positions such as Assistant Attorney General in New York City and Principle Law Secretary for the Administrative Judge of Queens County. Roberta holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Tuskegee University and a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Chicago Law School.
Sandra Douglass Morgan '03 is the President of the Las Vegas Raiders. She's a trailblazer, being the first person of color to serve as chair of the Nevada Gaming Control Board and as the first African American City Attorney in the State of Nevada. Morgan is a seasoned professional with 20 years of experience in integrated resorts, casinos, and telecommunications companies. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of Nevada, Reno, and a Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
Bryan K. Scott '88 has practiced law since 1991. He recently retired from his position as the City Attorney for the City of Las Vegas after working for the city of Las Vegas for over 25 years. In 2020, Scott was unanimously ratified by the Las Vegas City Council as the 23rd and first African-American City Attorney for the City of Las Vegas in the city’s history (119 years). He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (Management) from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, in 1988 and a Juris Doctorate from Northwestern School of Law, Lewis and Clark College in 1991.
Rikki Tanenbaum '06 is the chief commercial officer and president of 1/ST GAMING since August 2022. Prior to joining 1/ST GAMING, she served as Chief Marketing Officer of San Manuel Casino for the San Manuel Band of Mission Indians. She has extensive experience in the casino and hospitality industry, having held leadership positions at Caesars Entertainment, Penn National Gaming, Viejas Casino & Resort, and MGM Resorts International. Tanenbaum earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania, a Master of Hospitality Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Business Administration from Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
UNLV Foundation Board of Trustees Chair David D. Ross ’95, ’05 also expressed support for the new members. “Our Board of Directors is comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders committed to providing a vision for growth. I am confident that the addition of these talented individuals will be a great asset to us as we aim to increase private funding for UNLV. “
The nomination of five new trustees (pending ratification by the NSHE Board of Regents) was approved by the Foundation Board of Trustees at its spring meeting.
