Groovy music needs a groovy host, which is exactly why John Nasshan is your on-air talent on KUNV’s Morning Groove.
Born in New York City and originally from Chicago, Illinois, John Nasshan originally moved to Las Vegas with the intention of pursuing a career in music. When a friend of his encouraged him to speak on the radio, John fell in love with it ever since.
Usually the one to play the music, John eventually became the on-air talent behind the reins of playing and announcing it live. Being an on-air came as a natural gift to him. He appreciates the immediacy of radio and being able to create personal relationships with listeners by speaking to them.
One of the most exciting things to John about being on air is getting to help listeners get through their day. He upholds a responsibility to be there for people that he may be able to provide positive energy or a message to some people that may not necessarily have.
“These people adopt you as a friend, you might be their only friend,” he said.
John also loves that he gets to be a mentor to students. Providing his expertise and guidance remains another passion of his. Whether it’s teaching private music lessons or getting to talk to people, John enjoys working with younger generations of aspiring achievers.
When John is not on-air, he still continues his music career today as a musician, composer, percussionist and more as the principal percussionist at Henderson Symphony. Oh, and he loves dogs too!
