A curved wall of stacked breezeblocks are lit with a mysterious emerald green light. The backs of some of the blocks are visible—rough-textured, and uneven, as if they have just been removed from the mold.

These free Mold-Making workshops will be open on November 13, 15, and 16. (There is no workshop on Thursday, November 14.) Each session runs from 11 a.m.–4 p.m. but you can arrive and leave at any time. Materials are provided by the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art. Guests of all ages are welcome. No previous experience is required.

These workshops are part of the Marjorie Barrick Museum’s By-Hand How-To, a series of creative and restful events that will manifest almost every month until May 2025. The project is supported, in part, by the Nevada Arts Council, a state agency, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts, a federal agency, and the state of Nevada.

About the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art
The Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art believes everyone deserves access to art that challenges our understanding of the present and inspires us to create a future that holds space for us all. Located on the campus of one of the most racially diverse universities in the U.S., we strive to create a nourishing environment for those who continue to be neglected by contemporary art museums. As the only art museum in the city of Las Vegas, we commit ourselves to leveling barriers that limit access to the arts. Our collection of artworks offers an opportunity for everyone to develop a deeper knowledge of contemporary art in Southern Nevada. The Barrick Museum is part of the College of Fine Arts at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
