The objective of the Minority Serving Interdisciplinary Research Developing Areas (MS-iRDA) is to develop collaborative teams to pursue Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI) and Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) grant opportunities that are aligned with UNLV’s mission of increased retention, improved graduation rates, and enhanced outreach to the community in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) areas. Since receiving AANAPISI status in 2012 and HSI status in 2015, UNLV has made efforts to improve the academic outcomes and career paths of its students. The long-term goal is to use the funding opportunities to create programs that broaden opportunities for our diverse student population; the programs created can then be institutionalized to support greater enrollment, retention, and completion of STEM degrees.
Are you interested in pursuing these types of grants and scholarly work?
Do you do work that aligns with this iRDA or related areas?
Are you interested in helping to shape interdisciplinary research related to AANAPISI/HSI issues?
If so, join the Minority Serving iRDA meet-up!
