We are seeking 2 Graduate Assistants to partner with us on a new research project funded by the Institute of Education Sciences. The GAs will provide research support for the project “The Implementation and Impact of Nevada’s Corequisite Mandate” and be trained in social science research methods. We are looking for one GA interested in quantitative research experience (e.g., analysis of large scale secondary data and survey data) and one GA interested in qualitative research (e.g., interviewing; participatory action research). The PI and Co-PI for the project are Dr. Federick Ngo and Dr. Stefani Relles in the Department of Educational Psychology, Leadership, and Higher Education (EPLHE).
About the study: The research team will examine the impact and implementation of Nevada’s Corequisite Reform, which allows students to enroll directly in college-level math and English courses with corequisite support instead of prerequisite coursework. They will use Nevada’s statewide longitudinal data system to examine the effects of the policy on learning, college outcomes, and post-graduation earnings, and they will partner with the Nevada System of Higher Education to explore student, faculty, advisor, and administrator experiences of policy implementation.
