UNLV’s CyberSecurity Center is proud to announce that eight computer science students recently took and passed the EC-Council’s Certified Ethical Hacker (C|EH) exam.

Considered a gold standard for ethical hackers and recognized and used by the National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Defense (DoD), the C|EH certification covers topics including network security, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment, and can be an essential step in building a successful career in cybersecurity.

Cyber attacks are one of the fastest-growing crimes in the U.S. and are becoming increasingly costly to organizations that aren’t adequately prepared to defend themselves. Ethical hackers use their skills and knowledge to uncover and fix security vulnerabilities in a network or computer system before nefarious hackers have the opportunity to exploit them for harm.

Students who are UNLV Cyber Clinic (https://freecyberclinic.org/) members can have the cost of their C|EH exam covered by the Clinic. This is not only a significant cost savings to students but also provides them an invaluable learning experience combined with an industry-recognized certification.
