

Applications are now open for UNLV's 7th Annual GenCyber Camp!
The UNLV GenCyber Camp is a FREE cybersecurity camp designed for high school students in Southern Nevada. Our program aims to educate students on safe online behavior, promote digital citizenship, and foster interest in cybersecurity careers. Participants engage in hands-on activities covering various cybersecurity topics and gain insights from industry experts.
Topics include:
- Cybersecurity concepts
- Encryption techniques
- Social & personal computer security
- Cybercrimes & protection
- Wireless & mobile security
- Critical infrastructure protection

The UNLV GenCyber Camp is coordinated by a diverse team of faculty, staff, and student mentors, led by UNLV GenCyber Camp Director, Professor Juyeon Jo, and Lead Instructor, Professor Yoohwan Kim from the Computer Science department in the College of Engineering.
The camp is offered during a one-day spring camp and a five-day summer camp. While participation in both camps is highly recommended, it is not mandatory. The same application can be used to apply to one or both camps at the same time.
- Spring Camp: Saturday, April 19, 2025 9am-4:30pm
- Summer Camp: Monday, June 2 through Friday, June 6, 2025 9am-4:30pm
Throughout the camp, participants will learn fundamental cybersecurity concepts through lectures, demonstrations and hands-on experience with hacking tools and capture-the-flag (CTF) competitions.
Apply online by March 24, 2025. Accepted students will be notified via email by March 31, 2025.
