Richard Tam was a longtime real estate developer in Las Vegas and an active supporter of the UNLV. Tam made numerous financial donations in support of student scholarships and UNLV alumni through his generous gift of $1 million to build the Richard Tam Alumni Center.
The Richard Tam Alumni Center was opened in 1990 and has become one of the most visited and iconic buildings on the UNLV campus. Tam established the Richard Tam Trust Fund to provide funding for upgrades, enhancements, and beautification projects for the alumni center. Some of the projects which the Richard Tam Trust Fund has supported include new sandstone benches in the front of the building and the courtyard area, a new video screen for the lobby area, and the sound system for the Grand Hall.
UNLV is appreciative for all of the financial support that Richard Tam has generously given over the years.
