The Nevada Conservatory Theatre at UNLV is pleased to announce its 2015-16 season, a thrilling combination of Shakespeare, contemporary Broadway hits, and treasured American classics.
Christopher Edwards, the artistic director for the NCT, invites the entire Las Vegas community to engage with the NCT during the 2015-16 season: "With an eye toward community engagement and entertainment for young and old alike, we hope to get back to what has made this theatre company stimulating and accessible."
The 2015-16 season offers something for everyone in your family, from one of Shakespeare's most enduring comedies, to Cole Porter's classic American musical, to a dramatization of Harper' Lee's timeless novel about coming of age in the racially-segregated south, to Quiara Alegr?a Hudes's Pulitzer-prize winning play, which explores the impact of war on a Latino family. Thrill your senses with our creepy Halloween show and feel the magic of the holiday season with our bi-annual production of A Christmas Carol.
In the Main Stage Series audiences will experience five professional shows featuring the work of nationally recognized theatre artists. The NCT will also present three conservatory shows highlighting UNLV's talented MFA and BA students in its Studio Series. Also look for special events surrounding the theatrical offerings, such as a Halloween festival, a Holiday festival, Brush-Up-Your-Shakespeare workshops, playwriting workshops and new student matinees.

Much Ado about Nothing

In Shakespeare's beloved romantic comedy, a lover's trap is set for Benedick, a sworn bachelor and Beatrice, his favorite verbal sparring partner -- the gloves are off and a comic love story is in the making.
Water by the Spoonful

Oct. 2-11 (Main Stage Series)
When Elliot, a young Puerto Rican man, returns home from Iraq, he discovers that the lives of his family members are also in turmoil. Through the strength of family and the community of chat rooms, we see Elliot's "search for human connection in a harsh and destabilizing world" (Time). This play is winner of the 2012 Pulitzer Prize.

Organic and Home Grown Playwright's Festival

This brand-new Playwright's Festival will offer world-premiere presentations of plays by Nevada playwrights. In this two-day new plays workshop and reading series the NCT will showcase the very best of local voices from Southern Nevada.
