Katherine Manifold (Libraries) and co-authors Annamarie C. Klose, Alexis Fintel, and Amy McCrory from The Ohio State University published the article “Fragments in Cyberspace: The Ohio State University’s Digital Collection of Medieval and Renaissance Manuscript Fragments” in the Journal of Library Metadata. This open access article reports on actions taken to make a collection of pre-modern manuscript fragments virtually accessible to users in a digital collections platform and in the Digital Public Library of America (DPLA). Highlights of the article include a short introduction to fragmentology and a detailed look at the project’s digitization and description practices.
